Heavy Haul & Permitted Freight
Freight beyond legal weight or dimensions does not move on a standard quote. It moves on permits, escorts, route surveys and a specialized carrier — and the quote has to name every one of those costs.
What we need to quote it
Length, width, height, actual weight, axle configuration if known, origin and destination with exact addresses, and the delivery window. Route restrictions, bridge clearances and local permits decide the cost more than mileage does, so the estimate model is not used — heavy haul is quoted per move after the dimensions are confirmed.
What appears on the quote
Linehaul for the specialized carrier, permit fees, escort and pilot-car costs, any route survey, and the handling at each end. The rate confirmation names the equipment, the permitted dimensions and the carrier that holds the authority for the move.
What can go wrong, and what we do about it
Permit windows close, routes change and a load that fit on paper does not fit under a bridge. Dispatch confirms permits before the truck rolls, and if a route has to change the cost impact is disclosed in writing before the move continues.
